I just had time for a quick tug, but it did not seem like they wanted to come out. I'd like to remove them prior to paint to avoid the obvious tape lines.

Any guideance, suggestions would sure be appreciated.

They have plastic VW clips snapped onto metal headed pins. Plastic clips probably will break when you pop track free from clips.

You will have to order new ones from a VW dealer. I posted VW info here on BB.

metal channel track on backside of rubber strips is snapped onto plactic clips.

You have to be careful not to bend channels when you pop off platic clips.

Thanks Steve!

It definitely felt more secure than the seal itself pressed into a slot or something similar.

I think if you start with door(s) open you can slide wide putty knife under channel and start to pop them loose along edge of front windshield and work you way up and back.

I can't find post on VW part number for clips but I did order them so have invoice somewhere in my stash of stuff.

I just searched everything i could think of and did not find the vw number either.

If you come across the part number at some point it would sure be helpful.

Thanks again,
