Went in search of Advance Auto Oil-Tite M22 washers for my drain plugs, as recommended in other posts. Turns out this puppy is a rubber washer with a copper ring in it, not a copper compression washer. Anyone use it? Any problems? Will check the NAPA BalKamp 704-1364, also recommended in other posts. Thanks.

I replaced my tranny oil and the old washer leaked. After visiting numerous auto shops etc I found an exact match (copper) at the "House of Hose" - a huge place that supplies hydraulic and pneumatic stuff. I then added some thread sealant and no leaks.

Re-use your old copper washer if you have it, but be sure to anneal it. Copper work hardens. To make it soft again, heat it to glowing orange with a MAP or propane torch then quench it in cold water.
