Doing an anti-rain dance...

...burning incense and leaving offerings at my backyard dry weather alter for that weekend. Would be nice to do a back-to-back down there with Audi on Saturday and Alfa on Sunday. BUT: Wet track ==> not so much.
Portland Track Day Registration on AROO Website!!!!!

Gentlemen, start your protractors!

Plan your apexes accordingly.

Looks like the new track layout is going to be fun!

Bump! Spaces still available

FYI, there are still spaces available for the AROO spring Track Day at PIR.

Come out and be one of the first to enjoy the new pavement at PIR!
Watch as the entire group tries to figure out the new "line" around the track.
See the satisfaction on the driver's faces as they exit the track due to the smooth surface!

$90 for AROO members, $140 pre-registration for everyone else :):):)
or
wait until the event date, gamble that space *might* be available, and pay $180 :eek::mad:

Dry Track Forecast Sunday March 2!!

If you haven't signed up yet, waiting for the forecast, be there on Sunday AM for the AROO Track Day at Portland International Raceway. The weather forecast is 55 degrees and dry!

The track is faster and stickier.

AROC, AROO members day of registration fee is only $90.00. There are no better rates for this track day anywhere in the NW. If you are not a member yet, you can join the club for $60.00 at Registration and get the members rate. Still $30 less than non members day of rate!

See you Sunday

 pwnd.

BUT: Maybe my incense burning and chanting for dry weather worked! (Actually, more like charcoal burning and meat searing.)

I'll be driving down from Seattle, so, hopefully you'll accept us medium-distance members at the gate.

I'll be there bright and early. Yawn. With a cup of java in hand (or maybe in the cupholder).
See you Sunday!

Thanks for your help with the incense!

Look forward to having you there. Drivers Meeting mandatory at 815, track goes hot at 9AM.
Should be some great cars on the track that day!

No problem! Unfortunately, I think the mojo ran out and the March 8 IRDC day at PR is likely to be wet.

Hope to see some great vintage stuff with you guys at PIR. Maybe this TZ1 will get trailered down for the day:

Last time I saw it was summer 2006 at an NWARC PR event. I love that thang.

I'll drive down the night before and try to be at the gate at 7 a.m.

Photos?

I was out of town on unavoidable family business and missed track day. Looked like you had a dry day. Is anyone going to post some photos?

I saw someone taking pictures at the chicane in the a.m. Kent Regan did take a bunch of pics that can be purchased in various forms:

On Sight Productions - Event Photography

I think Kent should give one small (680x400 or something) image of each car to the clubs so they can post them at their respective sites.

I took some in the paddock:

I have captured many of the AROO Alfas before, so not too many new pics. I did miss a chance to snap a pricey Lamborghini that cruised through sometime before lunch -- apparently a Lamborghini Reventón (shown at the Portland Auto Show earlier this year).

One day I'll get a decent digital SLR and snap some moving pics.

Some great action photos!
cool pic's

one question...wheres all the alfa's?...i figured there would be more
Randy Johnson's V-6 Alfetta (that's right, not a GTV-6) was enough for me!!! Great to see he is still out there hard-charging in that beauty.
Thanks for sharing!!
dont get me wrong..was cool to see what i saw..just expected to see alot more alfa's and less "anomaly's"
Hey- local chapters wouldn't make any money at these track events if it weren't for the 'anomolies', right? We just need to convince the photogs to concentrate on our Alfas;)
lol i guess thats true...is that few of alfa's "normal"
Can't speak for AROO, but at NWARC track days, the Alfas are usually outnumbered pretty substantially.
Well, my car is almost always anamolous in one way or another. Heh. AFAIK, with Kent Regan, if you talk to him ahead of time and purchase a CD, he'll try to get more pictures of your car during the day. Only two people purchased CDs at the Alfa event. He had more hits on the preceding Audi event.
i liked the less "common" anomaly's out there...hopefully next year ill be out there with my anomaly tho about 50-75% alfa
