Torque Spec for low oil sending unit

789 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  mgarbinski
Got a 76 Spider w/ a 2L engine & need to make sure that I don't over-torque when replacing the low oil switch/sending unit.
Does anyone know the proper torque spec for this? Dry or w/oil?
Would it be proper to use anti-seize compound?

Thanks for the help!...This great car is new to me & I can't find the spec in any of my shop manuals.

Not sure what you mean writing "low oil sending unit". But I thing you mean low presure warning light sender.
There isn't normally at torque setting figure for this, but make sure to have a new copper washer and don't over tighten it when installing. Check for oil tightness when engine is running, if some is leaking past washer, tight the sender a little more - housing of alu.

Thanks!

Thanks, Erik!
That's exactly what I meant .
