V rated on a spider is a bit over the top - had them on the Montreal but that was different.
H rating (OEM rating for our spiders) is good to 130 mph.....your spider will explode at that speed before the tire will
I run Vredestein Quatrac 5 in 195/60-15H , which is an M&S all season tyre....they are v.good in the wet (snow too) and are quiet tyres.
but if you live in a mainly dry climate then obviously you don't need an all season.

Looks like I am going to replace my tires soon due to them being 10+ years old. I am very familiar with the name brand tires (Pirelli, Dunlop, Yokohama, Continental, etc.). Just browsing on Discount Tire Direct and they have tires that I have never heard of, but many come back with very good...

I wanted a summer performance tire more so than an all season M&S rated choice. I purchased the Vredestein Sprint + which happened to be the most expensive tire offered by Tire Rack. I only have a couple of days and less than 100 miles on them, but I have no complaints what so ever. The are sooo much better than the 10 year old Good Year Eagle GTs that were replaced.

I am looking to purchase 4 tires for my S3 Spider with OE 15" wheels. It's a summer fun car that will NOT see track use, but is driven very spiritedly. I have looked at Tire Rack, Discount Tire Direct, and Simple Tire sites. Where are the ultra high performance street tires in this size? So far...

Your 94 is basically the same car as the 69 Spider with 250 more cc, Bosch injection, and different bumpers and interior. As I said, they are so much better than the old Good Years that I had. Quieter, smoother, more grip. No downsides, that I have noticed. Most any NEW tire will feel better than your old tires. If you can afford the price, get the V Sprint +. If not, look at the KUM HOs; just don't tell your wife.
