I'm building a hot rod '65 TI and after getting it back from the media blaster I was contemplating what holes to fill and brackets to eliminate. The spare tire well has an odd btacket that is spot welded in and I'm wondering what it was used for. I think you can see it in the first picture. I've never seen one in a GTV or Duetto. The car is amazingly rust free, nothing even in the dog legs!

The Ti user manual does say that "The tool kit is located under the spare wheel in the trunk."
Perhaps this is what the bracket is for. Those canvas toolbags wouldnt have lasted long there so no wonder the kit position was moved to the left hand side of the trunk(boot for us Aussies)

You lucky bugger getting such as rust free body!

Thanks for the info. I figured it was something like that. More spot welds to drill out!
