I am rebuilding a 2 liter engine out of a 82 Spider, neither of the Manuals I have (Pat Bradens Restoration Guide and an old Haynes manual) make reference to a thrust washer between the idler pulley and the timing cover. I appears that there was one on there before and I also see that Center Line has one for sell. ???????????????? Nearly the same question/problem about the Oil Slinger. Do all the two liters require an oil slinger (between the oil pump drive gear and the cover) ????????????????? Any advise is greatly appreciated........Thanks

Thrust Washers

Hi:
As I recall, the thrust washer on the idler pulley goes between the block and the pulley, not to the front cover.
A 2L should have a slinger on the front of the crank, but did not use them on the rear, as the 1750 did.
I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong, regards Ian.
