has anyone successfully setup a 2.5 or 3.0 with 6 seperate throttle bodys?

if so is there any performance gain/loss or is it purely visual?....is it posible with the STOCK electrics?

ive contemplated switching to carbs a few times as well but have no complaints with the FI...just want to "cleanup" how the engine visualy sits when it goes into my project and the plenum, hose, and AFM just dont look "good" ..dont get me wrong i like the plenum to a point but i like things to be more semetrical and the TB hanging off one side of the plenum with a huge hose just makes it silly looking

Have you every tried to balance 8 carb throats on a Maser Q-porte V-8? Four on a Lancia Scorpion bad enough. Have you ever seen two of four header pipes turn red when middle ports out of tune scary sight when you realize that could be pistons starting to melt.

You don't want to go there!

If you think the carbs on a Q-porte are bad, you ought to try a valve adjustment along with the carbs. I did that a few years ago for a buddy. WOW! what a pig f%^%er! Its shim under like the Alfas.

shOrtlife. Simple is better. Unless you are going full race and have big bucks the stock set up is pretty good.

We may have that to do in the future on my son's Q but right now we are having too much fun playing with valve shims and cam boxes on his BiTurbo Spider. Whoever designed an engine with compressable gasket in clearance equation and two intake valves using same tappet was a sadist. On his coupe we went with no gasket and Loctite 518 but we hope to survive gasket compression on this one as we don't have enough shims right thicknesses to go without gaskets.

We better stop here with hijacking original thread as we are also replacing intake and wimpy progressive carb with older intake and two throat (balanced we hope) Weber.

i wouldnt have thought a set of 6 TB's would throw everying out of whack to much especialy if they were 42mm to match the stock runner size and NOT change the FI setup at all....biggest issue would be somehow getting around the AFM
