just fired up my 74 spider yesterday. sits under a carport, but somewhat exposed over the wet winter. ran quite well, but applying the brakes gives a shuddering/ throbbing sensation. stops when the brake pedal is released. are the calipers sticking? will these break free (pardon the pun) eventually,or do i need to do something else? thanks. ken

My 77 had the same problem turned out to be the u-joints were froze

wow. i'll put it up on the ramps and check, but why would they only vibrate when applying the brakes? did they break free or did you have to replace the u joints? thanks ken

Typically it's warped disks, usually the front if you feel it through the steering. Could be build-up of crud if you haven't driven it in some time, and it'll get scoured off.

The engine was trying to over power the brakes. Nope had to replace u-joints . not to hard lots of good treads on the subject ,just make sure to mark everything well so it goes back in the exact same spot to stay in balance.

I did try all the easy and obvious things first u-joints were the last resort
