That is a good idea. There was never enough wrap on the camshaft near the distributer drive (left side).

Please, what is the brand & part number for the timing belt you are using ?. Years ago I emailed one of the big timing belt manufacturers (Gates or Dayco don't remember which) and the response was that the timing belt used in the GTV6/Milano was the longest timing belt they made with that tooth profile (trapezoidal). I think the GTV6/Milano belt is 134 teeth, how many teeth on your belt?

Cant agree with those guys because Dayco has at least 2 longer belts. You have original pn. 94423 with 134 teeth all ACC profile, then 94094 belt with 139 teeth, and 94079 with 142 teeth. All 25mm width and ACC profile. My guess is that the longest belt is used in this conversion, the one with 142 teeth.
