Hey all , after reading through the post regarding brake bleeds, it seems my best bet is to jack the *** end up super high, bleed the fronts with no ignition, then bleed the rears with ignition on, useing half pedal pressure to bleed.

if all else fails , what are the chances that the MC would fail. If it is faulty is the buick reatta MC the best match or do i have more options IE what cars used the teves mkII ABS system please.

also any tips or prep tips you can give me before i attempt this job.

car is 87 milano verde with ABS, rotors , calipers and pads are new, cant get a good pedal.

Thanks in advance,

LW

The brake MC in ABS cars is hugely different than the non abs cars. It is hugely painful to remove and extremely expensive new OR used.

if it ever came to a ABS MC issue in my own car the brakes would be converted to conventional brakes without ever looking back. The ABS MC unit itself is probably $1500.00 new (if you can find it) and at least a few hundred from most wreckers. Also, even though the Teves MKII system is the same in other domestics (and import cars), the only non-interchangeable part is the valve assembly (MC)...youll need one from a verde...

luckily the same is not true of most of the other components :)

Cars using the Teves Mark II ABS (4-wheel, Integral system)

The TEVES MARK 2 ABS (4-wheel, Integral) system was used on ABS versions of the following cars. If you surf around enthusiast sites for the different cars you can pick up a lot of information and may stumble across something useful.

Autozone has a lot of online information on the Ford/Lincoln system. Most of it should cross over.

Also check out this article from the St Louis club.
