I didn't re-read the entire thread, but did anyone mention that Alfaholics is selling what are claimed to be proper reproductions of the original synchros? Anyone know if they are different than the other repros that everyone is complaining about? If so, there may not be a need for a campaign. Now this is an interesting factoid. Could it be that Fiat's traditional distain for Alfa is at work here? But what, as is often the case in the corporate world, that isn't really a hard-and-fast decision? What if we on the bb organized a world wide email-campaign asking Fiat to change their policy and place an order for Alfa syncros? I would think somebody in the corpoate bowels of Fiat probably made that decision and it got institutionalized because nobody challenged it. With a little luck we might be able to change that.
Just a thought.![]()
thanks for the feedback. Are there any resources where I could find out if the GL-5 oil in the 75w90 NS is safe for brass components?Other than cost, there is no reason not to give it a try. I use it on one of my two GTA CR transmissions on the street with no issues. This is, however, just my experience.
I suggest that you give a call to Redline's tech supports guys. When I called them to ask if NS was appropriate for an Alfa gearbox the guy I talked to knew all about Alfas. Also, another consideration is that NS has been around for quite some time and is regularly used by Alfa racers. That's about as good a field-test as you'll find.thanks for the feedback. thanks again.
Actually you don`t have to call anyone. Just read the lable on the back of the bottles!
Labels?? We don't need no stinin' labels . . . :winkiss:Actually you don`t have to call anyone. Just read the lable on the back of the bottles!
Well, you gotta hand it to the Alfaholics guys, they're certainly walking the walk when it comes to actively finding parts solutions, even if it means they go out on their own and actually make the stuff themselves. Now, in addition to becoming lawyers---shudder---I wonder if Max and Andrew also learned to speak fluent Mandarin? :flowers:I didn't re-read the entire thread, but did anyone mention that Alfaholics is selling what are claimed to be proper reproductions of the original synchros? I`ve never used aftermarket syncros. And have had no problem. Why would you have a solution if you stated you never had a problem to start with.
