Tried the search, sorry but could not find a specific list.
Asking because I assume that my 33 y/o separator is probably shot inside. Car runs well though.
I see that a member is selling new ones that he is fabricating.
Still I would like to know the symptoms of a failed one.
Thanks!!!

You'll usually get rusty oil in the intake downstream of the hose connection, and a bunch of rusty oil all over the frontside of the throttle plate

A clogged OVS will interfere with sump scavenging and can also mimic a vacuum leak. If it rusts through (the byproducts of combustion are acidic) it will be an air leak. Any air leaks will mess with the Air Flow Meter's signal to the computer - leaks are called 'false' or unmetered air.

just take it off and spray lots of brake cleaner into it...block off the big openings with corks cut to fit and shake the hell out of it.....drain and repeat, and once it runs sort of clean it is fine for another year or two. If you feellike it, give it a coat of new black paint and put it back in.

If big chunks of rusty metal come out, you need a new one.

Oh, and squirt 10cl engine oil into the thin hose going to the block (or dipstick...depending) when you fit it back.
