The summer 2011 Western Colorado/Gateway tour will take place from Sat. Aug. 6 through Mon. Aug. 8.

The plan will be to leave Denver (Lakewood), about 8:30am on Sat. Aug. 6 and drive to Buena Vista for lunch (at a very good brew pub). Then on to Montrose for the night at the Holiday Inn $100, or the Affordable Inn $76- which are across the street from each other.

Day two (Sunday) will leave about 8:30am and drive to the Gateway Museum (about 2 1/2 hrs.). We will eat in Gateway. Then we will drive to Redstone, CO via Grand Mesa. We will stay at the Redstone Inn ($89-$240 for the night). I will look into getting us a tour of the Redstone Castle, but no guarantees).

Day three (Monday) will take us from Redstone back home, via Aspen - Independence Pass - Leadville - Silverthorn - Denver. We should be back mid afternoon.

Anyone interested, please E-mail Scott Walker ([email protected]) by April 15th, or as soon as you can, so we can try and get discounts on lodging, and a tour of the Redstone Castle.

This tour IS STILL OPEN! We are planning to go. Anyone that wants to meet us along the way, or join us for the entire tour, please do. At this point we have 5 cars confirmed (so far), including a couple of Giuliettas. We are staying at the Holiday Inn in Montrose on Sat. night, and have a group discount (so ask for it).

Please let me know if you would like more info.
