I am trying to get my S road worthy again after sitting for to long. I am having a problem with the throttle body. It is not closing and instead staying open. I tried spraying some white lithium grease but that has not completely helped. Is it possible that the return spring can be replaced?

Are the throttle bodies on a 12v the same as a 24v motor?

I had this problem with my "S" several years ago. If I remember right, the plate itself was catching on the body in one place before others. You could try loosening the screws that hold the plate to the shaft and see if it closes and retighten the screws. If that doesn't work, carefully file the high spot down with a fine file until it closes. You should be able to tell where it's catching by the marks on the body, or the plate.

You could always remove the throttle butterfly and inspect it under a light to see what's going on. You should be able to fix the scraping/sticking by re-centering the plate.
