I'm trying to remove the steering wheel from my '69 1300TI parts car and have doubts on how to do it.

To get to the bolt that holds the wheel on I remove the black center cap, correct? If so, any recommendations as to what tool to use? I tried a small screwdriver and the center cap doesn't feel very solid, I'd rather not break it.

Thanks.

Thats correct, black palstic center cap has mounted to chromed horn button assembly that has mounted to steering wheel. Try to spray CRC, WD-40 etc. and twist it of with screwdriver, be carefully as you could be the first one who try to remove it or perhaps previous owner could be glued it in.. Your Ti looks little sad:(

Thanks, I'll try it.

Ti looks more than a little sad, it's cut into several pieces and heading to the scrapyard fairly soon.

Even with WD40 I can't get it off, the plastic looks fragile and I don't want to force it. Any suggestions?

Edit: nevermind, I managed to get it off, the thing was stuck on there pretty well.
