HI all

There are a lot of different "starts then stalls" posts in many different forums I am hoping to get a few solutions together as a quick reference for others to work with to fix there issues

Here is my story the original gtv6 ignition switch has 4 wires
RED: battery power INPUT
BROWN: OUTPUT to power the up the car [ignition lights, wipers etc.]
BLACK: OUTPUT to starter motor 12VOLTS direct when key is turned to start
GREEN: to coil

My car had a milano/75 3 wire switch with no GREEN wire. The green had been wired to the brown after the switch with a relay

I connected the gtv6 4 wire switch to the wiring loom
red to red
black to black
brown to brown
green to green

car now "STARTS THEN STALLS"

I disconnected the green and connected it directly to the brown after the switch

THE CAR STARTED

If I connect the green into the loom as it should be, the ignition is working when the switch is at START UP. the car starts and runs
Then EARTHS OUT when the switch returns to the ON position cutting the spark and stalling the engine
