88 spyder veloce: new pumps/injectors/relays/ it ran for a while /adj valves/ previous owner hot wired pressure pump, all grounds cleaned / now just cranks and dies!/////// any sugestions? thanks!:mad::mad::mad:

The drive relay controls power to the fuel pumps. There is a 'start' signal that bypasses the drive relay during cranking. Once the engine starts the drive relay takes over based on a tachymetric signal from the coil (tells the drive relay the engine is running). If the tachymetric signal is absent (faulty sense wire) or the drive relay is faulty that could explain the symptoms.

Had a similar issue. It was the air intake hose that runs across the top of the engine, the one connected to the plenum. It was ever so slightly disconnected.

Make sure the connection is tight, as any air leaks will prevent the car from staying running.
