I usually work this stuff out but since there is glue and cutting and trial and error, I need some help. The exposed wheel arches behind the seats have a vinyl covering over padding. The vinyl has to fit snug and the adjoining panels should fit snug too. If the pad back is too soft the vinyl won't hold the contour and it will be too squishy and probably won't stick. What is the experience of those who have done this? What materials and steps? Padding type, glue, etc.....

I want to do it once and I see the potential of some hair pulling. Uncle

Hi Uncle R

1/4" foam backing - the original was soft stuff, like kitchen sponge texture.

Glue = the sprayable contact adhesive that artists use, I know it as spray-mount, apply to one side of the foam away from the car, then apply foam to wheel arch & allow to dry, then spray the visible foam surface - carefully so as not to get excess onto car, then spray & apply vinyl - follow manufacturers instructions

Worked for me
