Turns out my 89 Spider, which had the VVT pin installed backwards, actually had two pins in the head; the second fell out from god-knows-where when it was in the wash rack at Norman Racing.

My question: on the end that contacts the VVT solenoid, one pin has a flat face, and one pin has a cupped face. Is the flat face the one to use, and the cupped face is worn?

Thanks very much. It'll be interesting to see how it runs with the VVT working.

Valve job done (two burned exhaust valves and four recessed valve seats) and I'll start getting the head back on this week.
