Building custom upper A arms for my Dio Tipo Alfa project.
Need to find a different upper BJ so that it will be adjustable for length.
The common trick is to use tie-rod ends.
Do NOT want to use Heim ends.
But to do that I need to find dimensions for the taper.
I've tried to measure but it's hard to get solid numbers.

Seems like some of the racers here might have done this before so may have recommendations?

Lots of searching.
Seems what I need may be .612 small and .703 large.
Best likely fit I've found so far is MOOG #ES2065L
Found some at Rock Auto that are just too cheap to be believed.
So I will order a pair for trial purposes and buy better if it looks like the size is OK.

Got the upper and lower ball joints today.
Lower are stock Alfa, upper are ES2065L.
Threads on the shank do not come quite as close to the joint as the popular ES2074R but the joint taper is correct.
Upper shank is 5/8" LH thread, plenty beefy.
I will need to add a washer for the castle nut to engage the cotter pin.
I may shorten the shank .500" - .750"

Now I can make the measurements to figure my A arm mounting points and lengths!

For those who may be interested, the ES2065L BJ"s can be used to make your own adjustable upper arms.

I'm taking this to a Pro, I already found the upper ball joints.
Will be interesting to see what he comes up with.
If not too expensive I may also have him look at a Spider front suspension upgrade.
New tubular arms with improved geometry and the aluminum rotor hats I plan to make.
Stock Alfa front unsprung weight is ridiculously heavy.
