The exhaust header of my S4 is in very poor condition, very rusted, and badly resolded
Where could I buy an header for the 1991 model ?
The standart middle and rear exhausts are in very good condition.
The system is a 4-2-1... I'm wondering if a 4-1 is not better ?
I saw a CSC manifold kit at ebsoares (UK) at £ 265 it seems me rather expensive.

OP, does you Spider have a cat installed? I wonder of the front pipe from an early 70's Spider would fit? I've got a '74 and a '92, and the systems look about the same, except for the cat and 02 sensor bung on the '92. I actually have a complete '74 system on my '87, with an 02 sensor bung welded in so the L-Jet works properly.

I got a brand new set of S-4 cast iron headers from Classic Alfa. I believe he had a source in Italy.

I thought it was pretty funny when he let me have it.

I called one day, it was a Monday, and he said, "Oh no, I am not starting my week by talking to somebody (I'm pretty sure he said A hole here ) who calls his Spider an S4. Alfa has never called any of the models, by an S number"!

I needed the part and his personality just added to my Alfa experience.

But, please, go ahead, give him a ring and introduce your S number Spider.

He was good to deal with. I got my part at a reasonable price in a reasonable amount of time, and I get a smile every time I think of the call.

Have you seen the prices over there? I bet he can get one from APE and ship it there for less than EUprices.

I was looking for some comments relative to the benefit/loss of going to a 4/1 versus the stock 4/2/1 arrangement. Seems to me the latter is the optimum, unless you ran all the way to the back with 4 pipes.

Got the 1-4 and 2-3 branches of the S-4 cast iron manifold.

The 91 to 94 Spider's have power steering and the 1-4 branch is shaped to miss the PS box so the earlier ones won't fit.

They don't have it on there site you need to call them...........

Another option is to check the salvage yards in Europe many more S-4's in Europe then USA and a more likely chance to find a used one.
