If anyone has a lead for good set of spider gears from 115 series differential, or has extra set in your garage, please let me know or pm me. With details… I am willing to buy the whole pumpkin.. . I am in NY 11576.. thanks
The 115 series do not have common spider gears as non LAS 105 series diffs. The only gears in the 115 diff are those that tighten the LSD`s internals. Exactly what are you looking for?
Beware. I've just zapped "William Chris". A new member who offers exactly the part you are looking for is suspicious. In this case, he posted the same answer to 5 want ads. More than suspicious.
This behaviour is a typical spam.
Specific Montreal part numbers probably mean physical differences. The gears might be larger, but I always thought that the Montreal axle was only different by its cooling system. Could the diameter of the splines be different?
Another difference could be the angle of the V shaped groove in the limited slip pushing plates. This was a parameter of the ZF limited slip that laters the percentage of torque transfer.
I`m sure I have the two large gears, but I wonder why you are changing those 2 only and not all 6 of the system and the shafts??
The angle of the "V" in the Montreal unit is a bit wider angle. It provides more pressure at the same torque input than the 105/115/119 versions.
Using the wider "V" parts on my GT2 GTV6 racecar with over 300 HP and lots of torque on very wide and sticky tires resulted in the locking force spread the Transaxle`s housing with damage to the pinion gear and ring gear.
I have the 6 pieces but you will need a variety of floater plates (thicker) to correct internal clearances. Do not set it up with no internal clearance!
