My dash lights on my '86 Spider seem very dim, although dimmer roller switch is on max. Anyone else have this problem?

Mine are pretty dim, as well--I don't think it's a malfunction. That they're green, a color w/ a short "wavelength", as well doesn't help w/ brightness.

Also, this probably shouldn't be in the for sale forum.

Thanks, Jonathan, that green was probably not a good choice by Alfa. I'm a new member. How do I differentiate which forum I'm using?

Like most electrical issues in an Alfa, it is probably an inadequate ground.

There are a couple of other things you could check as well. Your Alfa is over 20 years old. After that much time the light bulbs can get a silver coating on the inside of the bulbs, which keeps the light from getting through. Also the contacts in the brightness switch can get oxidized over time. The quickest way to clean that is to move it from dim to bright several times and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks, Wayne. Welcome to the Old Farts division of AROC!
Advice well taken. I just didn't want to drop the dash to investigate, although I might have to, ultimately.
