Like Bernhard, I too have been in contact with Wes about this. In the 30+ years that I have known Wes (we met at Alfa Owner's Conventions, beginning in the 80's) and dealt with his business, he has always been reputable and honest. I have installed and tuned 8-10 or more of his rebuilt pumps through the years. If I ever had an issue, Wes was a phone call away and educated me so that I could remedy the issue. Others here have stated (anecdotally it seems) that one out of three of his pumps have issues after rebuild. That is not my experience, or the experience of other Alfa techs that I know. In fact, I take umbrage at those who merely cast those claims without details. Wes shared other details about this fellow and his pump ( I do no feel that I have liberty to divulge that conversation ) and it seems that the owner and his technician were not competent and damaged the pump upon installation and tuning. I don't know the DS, and none of us know exactly what happened here, but I continue to have full faith in Wes.

This is one that I cannot let stand unanswered. In fact, the mechanic was recommended by Wes. The mechanic and his father are well known in the Alfa world and he works almost solely on older Alfas.

There is a reason that Wes stopped responding to your emails and phone calls.
