After disconnecting the electrical connector at the ECU, check the resistance between terminals 8 and 27 for the rev transmitter and between 25 and 26 for the reference point transmitter. In both cases, the resistance should be 800-1250 ohms. Checking at the ECU will include testing the wiring to the sensor.
If either reading is infinity, disconnect the connector at the sensor and measure the sensor resistance. If it's OK, there's a bad connection or wire.

Coil Primary - 0.6-1.0 ohm at 25C
Coil Secondary - 3000-5000 ohms at 25C
Vacuum Sensor (terms 7 and 24 at ECU) - 50-60 ohms
Coolant Temp Sensor;
0C - 5.8 ohm
10 - 3.8
20 - 2.5
30 - 1.7
40 - 1.1
80 - 0.33
