Helping a friend sell this time-capsule.
Seller:
"I have owned it since 1974 and has been garaged all the time. No rust. I have removed
the fuel tank (had it boiled and resealed) but have not put it back in. I feel it needs
battery, tires, brakes and rebuild the clutch master cylinder. It has 52,230 miles on it."

I looked at it, it has no rust. The car was originally green. I'll answer questions the best I can before providing sellers contact information.
Car has not been driven in years, he's put MMO onto the pistons to prevent seizing.

Id price higher unless he just wants it out. Even it being a non runner.
Its a sharp looking car.

Its a71' model, is it a 1750 or a 2L? If its a 1750 the value is def too low.

Agree that the price is right! This might do well on BaT, but if the owner wants to move it quickly, that price should accomplish that.

I love the look of steelies & hubcaps on a '71 squaretail. If I were selling it, I'd make the buyer sign a pledge to NOT replace them with alloy wheels.

Was better until we discovered piston 3 was swimming. So head gasket blew or seeped while sitting. Engine stuck, needs a tear down, so heading home so I can tackle it here. wah wah wah

Yes, but I much prefer a solid body w mech issues over the opposite. Its a relatively easy fix to take care of n gives us an excuse to check bearings, rings etc n make right.

So 7 months later we have some progress on this silver baby. Engine was pulled quickly and taken to my race mechanic Phil Mason before he fled to calmer pastures up north. Fresh pistons, liners, bearings, rebuilt waterpump, usual bits for a full rebuild. Updated to Euro cam better matched to webers Im switching too. Spica is completely frozen so its gonna be pulled and set aside for later rebuild.

Phil also went thru gearbox which had a loose shaft, along with normal syncro wear.

Spent way too much fretting over engine bay, but knew it had to be tackled. Had paint matched and finally masked it all off and reshot trunk and bay couple weeks ago. Replaced throttle linkage and dropped engine in yesterday. Super simple with the hoist. Started putting stuff back together which is 10x slower as I clean, degrease n paint bits as I go. Progress is good and seeing the engine back in is definetly spurring me on. Having never done this, its a read n learn as I go.
