Hi Guys,

Would anyone know what socket size is needed to turn the engine over my hand on a 1971 alfa gt junior.

Car is fitted with 512 2.0 ltr motor.

The actual car is fitted with 2.0 ltr engine.

It also has the yellow style plastic fan attached to the water pump pulley.

I use 1 1/2" socket on my Spider. It is very close to the correct metric size.

Stupid question but just to confirm ... Is the crank nut located in the pulley right under the fan ?

Tried to get a torch in there but couldn't see anything

This one is 38 mm. There is a tab washer that tends to make the socket slip off the nut so wear gloves so that you don't skin your knuckles.

That's the one!

Tried using a 36mm without any luck .. seems like I need to buy a 38mm socket
