My 1988 Milano Verde tachometer appears slow above 2000 rpm. The engine hits the rev limiter at about 5000. It is OK at idle. Is this normal?

I have cleaned the contacts at the coil and the grounds on the front bulkhead. The electrical device list gives N16 as the Tachymeter Control Unit, but I am unable to find it on the diagram or in the car. Does anyone know if it exists and where it is on the car?

There is a little potentiometer inside the tachometer that you can adjust. You should find instructions if you do a search. You may have to google it as it may be in a different forum.

The article that I had in mind was titled "Revving-up the right number" by Erik Roe and it was published on the Alfa Club of Oregon website - alfaclub.org, but now I cannot find it.

Thanks much to you all - the Eric Roe article seems just right. I will let you know the results when I get around to trying it.
