  1. While tracing possible reasons my 85 Graduate will not start but will run briefly on starting fluid, I went to check the relays and fuse at the Inj CU. Under a few wraps of electrician's tape were the two white connectors on red wires in the photo, connected by what looks to be a spade terminal. Is this where the fuse is supposed to be? Is it supposed to be an 8A fuse? I guess this figures into the burned traces on the pcb in the 7-prong relay...

yes there should
some PO likely just got fed up and bypassed it.
Get a blade fuse holder with a 7.5 or 10A fuse (8A not available in blade) and put it where the troublesome bullet fuse holder would have been.

Yep - I found the exact same situation in mine, only the original fuse holder was still there in a melted blob, wire pigtails attached where it was chopped out and wires connected without a new fuse holder. And the PO was an alfa mechanic. Go figure.
