No need to ask this question twice. Can you post a picture of it? I believe the "newer" cars have a metal collar the unscrews from the bottom of the knob. That should uncover the screws
mine (84) is the factory original, you only have to pull upward and it releases. The rubber between the metal stick and fake wooden knob has a "nose" around, this holds it in in place.How do you remove a shifter knob from an 85 spider? I seem to twist off and I don’t see a setscrew
Thanks! That Did it.I have the same shift knob. Brian is right: turn the dark collar at the base of the knob clockwise (looking from its top) and it will uncover three hex screws. Undo those and the knob will easily lift straight off with no turning.
