Hi Gary,

BKSouthFL started the thread so he should have first refusal on yours. I may take it if he does not want it.

Thanks,

The air dam I'm looking for is contoured to the shape of the lower front body sheet metal under the grille and is more "dynamic" looking than on the photo of the '80 spider. I'll post a photo tomorrow. Whoever wants the one from the photo may have it. Thanks!

This is the Shankle air dam that you are talking about and was the only one that they produced. They fit the Duettos all the way through 1981. It will not fit 1982 and on. It is the same as the one picture that is posted in the thread. I picked up one of the last and made a mold of it before mounting it. I have made many of them and was also a fiberglass laminator many years ago. If there is enough interest I will make a couple.:sailor:

This one attached to the surface of the lower nose pan and it is contoured to fit up tight. it is fiberglass and is very light weight. I was not really impressed with the attachment as all that held it on was about 6 sheet metal screws and of course the holes were rusted. Since it sets so low, it has been banged up by pulling in too close to curbs and such when parking.

I am curious to see your photos.

There was also a fiberglass spoiler and side splash guards. All have been removed to address the rust beneath them. I like the cleaner lines without the fiberglass trim pieces so will not reinstall them. Spoiler has already been sold.

Air dam

I used to have one and I kept hitting it on sideway entrances. I always thought if it could have been made out of stiff but flexible material it would have been better. Fiberglas doesn't like getting smacked.

I will look to see what the material costs are. I pulled the mold out and it's ready to go. I know that when I last made one over 10 years ago it cost around $100 with ups to ship and takes 2 bike boxes to make the box. I will try to have one ready in 2 weeks, but I have also been super pinned at work. The best way to contact me is [email protected] or 831-359-5217
