Seats and covers

I have an S4 and as you can imagine the seats are looking a bit ropey. I don't really go a bundle on the alcantara and vinyl originals but I can source some seat covers. I would rather reupholster them in brown leather and possibly suede instead of the alcantara but I am concerned that this maybe prohibitively expensive. has anyone done it and what did it cost?

has anyone ever did piping on their S4's?
Maybe not what you want to do but I got new seat covers and seat bases from Alfaholic's (in UK). Their very good quaility and match the stock tan color of the interior panels.

the fit on your seat covers is excellent. they look completely stock - i could not tell they were seat covers at all. is that the way to go as oppose to reupholstering them? from a financial standpoint i am sure.

Thanks, They are alcantara and vinyl, the upholster that did the install for me commented on how well the seat covers were made. Even with the currency exchange rate from the British pound and the US dollar I would recommend them.

The new seat base's really help in the fit. IMO you should replace the seat bases when you recover the seats. I believe IAP now carries the new seat bases?

I didn't realize how shot the old bases were untill I sat in the new seats. It seems like at the back of the old bases were sunken in and you felt like you were sitting on a wire.

I also bought Alfaholic's parking brake boot which matches the seats covers perfectly.

Nope, but I gave my old seat covers to JohnM and he was working with a upholster in his area for a group buy with the option for all leather.

I bet you could find the thread if you do a search or PM JohnM when your ready. I felt with the limited use of the car the vinly would be plenty good enough for me.
My problems is that I just don't really like the alcantara and vinyl combo, it looks grubby and doesn't wear very well. Was wondering if these would fit?Alfa Romeo Parts at ALFAHOLICS. Classic spares, parts & cars.
only up to 1990 but look the same shape, was the seat itself changed or just the covers?
Got mine from www.highwoodalda.com in the UK. Most excellent alfa dealer. I am vary pleased with the prompt and correct shipment.
