Continuing to work on the GTV restoration completion today and noticed after pulling back the carpet that a couple of the seam areas at the firewall had been covered in Bondo. I shipped it a way to discover a couple tiny rust holes, which I'm going to weld and repair properly. However my question is after repair, should I be covering the seams with some other type of sealer? I'm not sure how these panels were assembled at the factory.

Upon further inspection, It looks like there may have been some type of sealer/void filler at the panel edges originally. I scraped off all of the filler at the panel junctions...

On other old cars that were not galvanised I have successfully used Sikaflex 227. An excellent seam sealer.
