I have now identified the top seal of the Boge electronic strut—the most important of 3 seals required for a rebuild—as...

manufacturer: CFW (Germany)

printed on seal: CFW AA / 1-232-000-0279-2 / OOHSL 22-166

description: "double" seal bonded to a steel washer, top side is "wiper" seal (keeping out contamination); bottom side is traditional "u-cup" (keep oil and gas in)

specs: 22mm ID; 4mm thick (steel washer), 46.5mm OD (dia. of steel washer)

Any tips for sourcing this seal GREATLY appreciated.

I know that a machine shop can fabricate/adapt one if necessary but it would be nice not to have to go this route.

Take one in to a bearing supply house. They may be able to find the exact one.

I did this with fork seals on a motorcycle I was restoring, and they were on the shelf, in single lip or double. Big smile on my face that day!
