I have a 1986 spider I purchased about a month ago. It had a lot of problems but I love the car and most everything is working now. Yesterday I was driving it and at about 3000 rpm the car would boug down like it was starved for gas and would screech like it had a loose belt. All the temp, oil pressure etc were fine. I parked it and about a half hour later I drove it about a block and everything was fine. This morning everything was fine for the first mile then it was back doing the same thing. It will boug down at 3000 rpm and I get a loud screech if I keep my foot on the gas. If I keep it below 2500 rpm it is fine.
Any ideas
Thank you, Chris

Can you tell where the noise is coming from? Is it the clutch slipping maybe as it heats up? Do the revs go up but the road speed does not?
