Sunday April 29, Meet at 9:00 AM at the Kearny Mesa Fiat Studio 5155 Convoy Street, San Diego 92111
Map and Directions to FIAT of Kearny Mesa
Directions: Take the Convoy exit from Freeway 52. The Fiat Studio is located one block south of the exit on the left side of Convoy Street.
Come early and see the new Fiat 500 Abarth. Sean Russel l says that he will have coffee on hand.
We will take Freeway 52 east to Freeway 125 south to Highway 94. Keep in the right lane on Freeway 94 because we will bear right at the end of the freeway and 94 quickly becomes a winding country road. We will drive through Jamul and Dulzura to Barrett Junction where we will have lunch/brunch at the funky old Barrett Junction Café. The café was built in the late 1940s and looks like the décor hasn’t changed since. On Sunday they have an all you can eat country breakfast buffet which includes fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, etc. for $9.99. They are also famous for their fish and chips which we sampled on a trial run. For the return trip, we will double back to Honey Springs Road. Taking this road north, we will pass (and perhaps stop at) the Dube Vineyards. We will then continue north via Lyons Valley Road and Japatul Road through Horse Thief Canyon to Freeway I-8. So, get your Alfa tuned up and ready for the road.
