Pretty sure that door panel speaker covers only started with the S4, 1991 - 1994.

My 1987 Quad speakers were in the footwell.

Definitely never seen speaker covers that were tan/brown. Always black.

Speaker covers on the door panels started in 1987 model year.

The 87 Spider Veloce my mother bought new had them. I also replace many under warranty for getting cracked during the same time frame.

Your Quad might have been an early production 87 were Alfa had not yet added them to the production line.
