eBay Romeo 2 is UK bound

Andrew,

This Romeo 2 was bought by an English Alfista, needed to fill a hole left after selling his Matta. Actually he has been looking for a van for some time...

Good to kinow that it is now in good hands & will be appreciated & enjoyed.

Maybe we should start a thread entitled Romeos & F12s for sale, in order to make future searches easier?

Regards,

Tony Stevens

Hello,
Welcome to me from AlfaBB!
The Romeo 2 is now mine and I am delighted to have it after a three year search for one.
We removed the engine and gearbox last week and in January it will start a full restoration to show standard.
Cannot decide on colour...... originally thought Alfa Red would be a good colour, but now thinking of baby / sky blue. Any thoughts from any one?
Have a look at :: Black and White Garage -- UK's Leading Alfa Romeo and Fiat Specialists :: and go to "Classic" and then "BWG Collection" to see pictures of the van.
Thanks, James.

Welcome and congradulations! What a fun toy you've picked up. There are so many neat paint schemes one could choose. One could replicate (or gen up) a van from Autodelta, Conrero, Colotti, Scuderia Fillipinetti- or an Alfa race service van, any one of the Italian bicycle makes, etc.

Enjoy!

Thank you for your welcome!
I am going to get it hand sign written with our old company logo (we were an authorised Alfa Romeo dealership in the early 1980's) and the Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Fiat signs of the 60's.
I see you like your Giulia Super's. I am looking for a Giulia 1600 Super at the moment, must be in superb original or superbly restored condition in either white, sky blue or grey or metallic grey. Car must be from the 1960's not 70's. Good modifications are fine but it must have a good body with good paint.
Regards, James.

Thanks Enrique,
I saw this car advertised a while ago. Absolutely perfect for me in every way..... except the price is crazy. I know Super values have gone up in the last few years but not to that level.

I hear you, James... There certainly has been a lot of discussion on the BB about the price of this particular car. (See the thread "$55,000 Super FS!") Not to re-hash the discussion of the thread, but I guess I'm in the camp that isn't particularly surprised by the asking price of this car. Not that I could afford to pay that amount for a car, but I do find that people who have cars in exceptional condition have enormous amounts of money in such cars, whether they sunk it in all at once or spread the cost out over many years of ownership. With the weak U.S. dollar however, that car would certainly be a lot more affordable for anyone on your side of the pond...

Best regards,

Or...

you could find another one like mine.
55k kms, all original, 9,000 euros.

And Dr., before you scoff at it again, I have seen several similar examples for sale in Europe in the past year.
