Hi,

I have a 1996 164 3.0 Super with Automatic transmission.
I wish it would have cruise control. How hard is it to do? Anyone who has done this before?
Appreciate your inputs and experiences.

Retrofitting has been done successfully on a Q4, I know this for a fact from an Alfisti friend in Germany. He bought all the gear and the stalk assembly that goes below the steering wheel, studied the system and installed it. CC gets its data from the ecu which receives the speed input from the speedometer sender. On a Q4 the CDS and CC share this info, so in the event that CDS goes out because of a crappy speedo connector, CC goes out too.

Peronsally, I won't bother. To me cruise control is best for those sleepy at the wheel and that goes very much against being an Alfa driver. Taxi drivers and the like will love it, but they are not driving Alfa 164s these days.
I would love something giving me a live mpg reading though. Sure mine is usually around 20. Prob drops to 5 when booting it
