Restoration recommendations for Alfa sider round tail

Hi, Just purchased a 1967 Alfa Romeo Roundtail 1750. In need of some light to medium resto. Anyone got any recommendations as to garages people they have used and obtained satisfactory results? Thanks

Is it a 1750 originally, a late roundtail, or a 67? The late 68's starting with the 1750 engine were the best. If it is really a 67, it is a 1600. I turned mine into a stealth 1600 with a 1700 conversion.

Start by getting yourself some Euro headlight buckets if you want to have headlight covers and properly put those headlights behind the front cowling. Those headlight buckets were unavailable for many years and now you can get new ones.

Congrats! I have been looking for a 1967 or 1969 Duetto for some time, I am even considering a conversion on my 1988 Graduate to a Round Tail. Good luck with your restoration, anyone on this side of the Pond, USA with a restorable Duetto or a Rear Body clip please let me know. David laRuse.

If you go that route, please keep us all included with pictures. That sounds like an expensive, but very fun project.

Wes, there are actually lots of 1967 1750 Spiders, GTVs and Berlinas. 1967 was the first year of the 1750.
I learn new things all the time on the board. Yes, I see that on Fusi.
I wish they had made a V6 factory roundtail, LOL.
I suspect this one was repatriated to Europe based on the headlights.

Brian, why does FUSI call it on the list as a "Guilia Spider Duetto" ? Is the Guilia name correct?

I have looked at the engine and it is definitely an original 1750.
I wonder if it came from Canada.
Classicalfa, OKP.de, Alfa-service, Highwood Alfa, Alfaholics, many suppliers. Some I don't know of.
These were unavailable for many years, until right after I restored my buckets. You can cut off metal around USA buckets and they will fit behind the sheetmetal, but it is a painful geometry to get at the headlight alignment screws after.

These buckets were made to do what you want, mount behind the sheetmetal. It also looks like the clear covers are sucked in looking. They are supposed to fill the well.

so its a 1600 67 duetto. i think that motor could be a 502 motor so 1600 sprint gt just hard to tell from the photo, that is quite rare.

Light to medium resto....
Be careful. It is quite the slope that is well greased and you will be wearing teflon shorts.
Car looks nice. If this is your first go-around with an Alfa or classic car I always recommend to drive the car a bit before making changes, then devise a plan for what you want the car to be.
Lots of help here on the AlfaBB, and also advise from the supporting vendors. They have given me courage and knowledge to attempt many jobs.

10503 664384 shows it on the Fusi attachment as a 1967 year 1600 Guilia Spider Duetto as I am reading it, but the engine number doesn't make sense as a 1750 motor.
