Another newbie question...
Are the timing cover studs threaded into the block or are they pressed in?

I am tearing down my 2L out of my 74 GTV for my first engine rebuild and tried to get those studs out without any luck. I was getting nervous that I might do some damage so I stopped trying.

I don't think there are any pressed studs anywhere on an Alfa engine; they're all threaded in. 6mm studs can be hell to remove without breaking. Why remove them? Normally they are left it. Try double-nutting, vise grips (shudder), or a stud remover from Snap-On or other quality tool maker.

A Snap-On stud collet and SOME (_VERY_ careful with this, DON"T do it if you don't have a clue) heat will do the trick.
