Hi folks, I've recently joined the forum becasue I'm planning on dropping the 3l 12v from a 164 into my TVR Tasmin to replace the original Ford Cologne V6.

I'm planning on running the engine using Megasquirt and wasted spark ignition. The first (of probably many questions) is what do i need to do to remove the distributor? Is it just a case of removing the dizzy and blanking off the hole, or does the distibutor drive run other items too (eg the dizzy drives the oil pump on early Rover V8 engines)

Oh 164 to start with then super easy.
just pop it off and put on a cover over the hole in the head.
you can get the cover off a 75. as it has the dizzy in a different place
