I need to remove this fitting that sits inside a boss on the middle sump piece.

I can't figure out by looking if it's threaded or if it's an interference fit.

How is this piece removed without damaging it? Is it pressed out or twisted out?

Doing it the hard way then... seems this isn't meant to come out, doesn't have it's own part # from what I see. It makes sense why this part is hard to find.

Why do you want to remove?

It fouls a boss on my 75/TS block. Also don't need two dipsticks!
I have seen vintage racers plug these with a pipe plug or set screw, what ever fits. so in your case, cut it off flush and then drill and tap to suit a plug. Loctite in the plug. Or find a sump without that pipe.

Makes sense. When I was searching the forums for a removal method I saw a couple WTB posts, so figured I'd make sure I'm not butchering a useful part.

I would not worry about Butchering it if it suits your purpose. There are lots out there.
