Having just installed the front and rear glass as a newbie I can say don't be afraid of removing it. With fresh rubber and a good helper it was easy. A benefit is you can clean in there.

I really want to remove that windshield and gasket, but is a bit scary. Eventually I am going to have someone professionally to remove it and replace the rubber, glass and rubber is not my thing.

Under that grille there are more bolts holding the dash to the body.
If you don't plan to reuse the glass gasket, just cut it all the way 'round with a box cutter. Watch your fingers. Then push the glass out. It's easy and will give you better access to the dash.
