Always grateful for answers from the forum. Until I get a service manual could someone tell me what the two relays (rated 20/30 Amp) on the right fender of the engine compartment are used for? The end leading from them is disconnected, so I have no idea.

Thank you
Rick

Yup, that would be the electric fan that comes as part of the AC package.

Does Jim have a diagram?
LOL, Jim has THE diagram(s).
Best you'll ever see anywhere, worthy of framing in fact.

As you've an 86, does it have blade or bullet fuses in the fusebox?
It might have bearing on which one you wanna get.

Rick,
Please send me your email address in a private message and I'll send you the wiring diagrams.
The relays in question are in the A/C section on page 4.

The wiring from one of these relays on my '87 runs up front to what looks like a temperature sensor that's just hanging loose in space. I guess it used to attach to the radiator somewhere, but can't see where. Anyone know where it belongs?

Small round sensor about the diameter of a dime, 3/8"~ish tall, little ears to screw it down w/one being open ended and having two black wires?

Right upper side of the fan shroud.
Info and links to pix in the FAQ.

EDIT:
This

goes where it says 'AC condensor fan temperature sensor'
