All: The wealth of information available on the BB is truly stunning. Recently reminded of my mechanical inadequacies following the purchase of my 74 GTV, it struck me that I could not easily find a resource that provided reliable information on experienced Alfa mechanics in my area.

It's all about word of mouth, right? Well, here's an idea - if you know of an Alfa mechanic that others should know about (and can provide contact information as well), please post here. Eventually it might evolve into a national directory of sorts. Feel free to add "comments" that might be useful as well on the type of work performed, etc. Thanks for your contributions!

MODERATOR'S ADD:

Alfiat created a Google map display in post #34 of shops/mechanics mentioned in this thread. I'm inserting the link here at the top post of the thread so it can be easily found.

Anthony Rimicci is very active on the board, and together with his brother and his dad are passionate Alfisti.

Uwe Backer is another passionate Alfisto (from I believe Sweden), who is also highly recommended.

There are others in the area, but I don't have personal experience with them.

Will's Imports in Salt Lake City, Utah.
945 South and 300 West.

He used to work for Fiat and Alfa dealers so he is factory trained and knows these cars better than just about anybody in Salt Lake City.

I don't have any experience with him, but Woody at Alfa Performance Center in Newportville, PA has been recommended to me by several local Alfisti.

i think that this is a great thread but there has to be a better way to utilize it.

assuming it becomes large and i am sure it will, how is someone suppose to find a recommendation for a mechanic in a specific city without having to read every thread if it turns out to be 20+ pages?

Once there is sufficient information, the data could be compiled pretty easily and then made available via email or other means. I am hoping there are enough entries to warrant doing that, and think a regional directory could be a huge asset for people on tours, etc.

Has kept my '65 Giulia Spider running well for almost 20 years at reasonable cost. Owns the Spider from the movie "The Graduate", now an E Prod (vintage) race car.

a "second the motion" for Giuseppe LoRe - Alfa Import Center, 1816 Lucas lane, Charlotte, NC. not exactly "stolen" from us but their gain is our loss. he was my mechanic, track buddy and good friend for a dozen years. a very knowledgeable, experienced mechanic and a straight-shooter
