Disassembling my rear suspension, the original spring perches mounted on the deDion tubes are pretty sad. The rubber is fairly dry and cracked, and there's some visible rust on the metal plates. You used to be able to buy new ones but none of the usual vendors have them available. Any tips on how to R&R the originals?

It's really just the rubber. I've been cleaning up all of the metal back there and am about to slather on some POR15, so all I really need is the rubber portion. Mine are pretty well dry-rotted. Shoot me a DM with your price and I'll send you my address!

I looked for these new all over the place. No supplier has them. They seem to have everything else but these rubber pads. I ended up ordering polyurethane sheets at 1/8" thickness and cut the circles. The height of the car was a little low, so I ordered another sheet of rubber this time at 1/4" and cut them again. They stay in their place fine and the metal disc pushes them to conform to the shape just fine too. The ride level was just fine. I think I just searched amazon for sheets of like 12"x12".

I have similar deteriation of the bottom perches. What was the procedure for removing the perches from the bottom of the coil spring? Did you need to remove the entire spring? Can you place coil spring compressors to as to slip the perches on?
Thanks,

It's easy enough to loosen all nuts from De Dion to shocks and put a jack under the tube and drop it slowly until springs are free... I have a few rubber set rings as spares... I like the polyurethane sheets idea, for just lowering the car.

Please share the link if you have a chance. A thicker perch isolator has been on my mind for a while.. Just to raise the rear of the car ever so slightly.
