Anyone have any experience buying a car from outside the US?

What does it usually cost to have a car shipped from Europe to the USA?
What complications arise with customs and trying to get a foreign car licensed in the states?

Are you sure it is convenient, with EUR/USD at 1.40?

usually... USD is twice as much as EUR... so a 12.000 EUR would be around $24,000 USD.

Still... I've seen some exceptional Alfas listed in Germany, Denmark, and Sweden just to name a few that would be worth double the price than what it would sell in the US.

Just curious what the costs and involvement is in getting a car bought and shipped to the US.

My mate imports and exports cars from the uk and us, estimate 2k usd to get them to the east coast, exclusive of any local imports duties or licencing issues.
