My new 4C Spyder has strange pull handle in the trunk attached to a flexible cable and which is velcro to the rear edge.
The symbols indicate the user is to pull then run away! I've searched the user manual (https://www.alfaromeousa.com/conten...anuals/4c-coupe/2018-Alfa_Romeo-4C-OM-2nd.pdf)

but can find no mention. Can anyone provide some information on this pull handle?

It’s a safety requirement for all modern cars. Mostly to prevent kids getting trapped in the trunk.

Believe it or not, that is the emergency release for the trunk. Government mandated for safety reasons (so no one gets locked in the trunk). Never mind that the trunk is so small that not many people will ever fit in the closed trunk, though I guess a small child may fit. The handle should also glow in the dark.

That is a super secret James Bond 007 handle. When you pull it, ....the trunk opens. Believe it or not.

That is an interesting one. We don't get them over here in Europe, as far as I know. But then we don't get members of the mob bundling people into car boots (trunks). Very often, anyway. So maybe we don't need them..

The only thing you can fit in a 4C trunk is a very short midget (or little person to be PC) tucked in a fetal position.

I laughed when I first got my 4C and saw that in the trunk...

I have thought about extending it to make it reachable from under the car incase the main cable broke..
